Cape Aloe Ferox

We harvest the Cape Aloe Ferox plant’s sap and clear gel for many health benefits. The sap’s anthraquinones stimulate the gastrointestinal tract. The gel, taken from the inner portion of the leaf, contains glycoproteins that speed the healing process by stopping pain and inflammation. The gel’s polysaccharides are a carbohydrate that stimulates skin growth and repair. These substances also stimulate the immune system. The combination of aloe vera and glyburide, a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes, may help control blood sugar and triglyceride (fat) levels in the blood. Aloe may have anti-cancer effects. Use of aloe may enhance the effectiveness of some medications used to treat the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), but well-designed research trials are needed to confirm these findings.
